therapy today is not just the application of
modalities such as heat or ultra sound. It is
the development program to meet the needs of
the individual patient, the goal of which is
to return the patient to normal functioning.

Occupational therapy focuses on the restoration of
normal function using a holistic model. Restoration
of function for the "job of life" is a common
goal and includes an individual work, leisure and
self-care activities. |

| Hand therapy focuses
on evaluating and treating upper extremity injuries and disorders.
Patients receive instruction in adaptive work living techniques
as well as ergonomics information to eliminate or reduce the
risk of re-injury. |

| The Medx testing
equipment accurately tests neck and back strength and range
of motion and presents this information in an easy to understand
graphical format. The Medx equipment is then used as a tool
to strength the lower back and neck musculature and to provide
objective data regarding muscle function. |

Continued Care Program |

| The Continued Care
Program, a service unique to STI, offers patients and referral
sources all the benefits of a supervised post rehabilitation
program. The role of STI exercise specialist is to provide a
progressive conditioning program specified to the individual
needs following formal rehabilitation. |
